The Meaning of Independence

Dated August 17, 2010, all Indonesian people happy to follow many race. But for what perlomabaan be held? Actually the race was held to commemorate the independence day of our homeland. Various methods are used to commemorate the day of independence, such as for race and held a flag ceremony. Every year we welcome the independence anniversary with a gala. But whether the real meaning of independence day?

According to the dictionary of the Indonesian language, freedom has a meaning that is free from servitude, occupation, standing alone, are not subject to or escape from prosecution, does not depend on a particular person or party. Freedom means free from all forms of colonialism and became a sovereign state without any foreign intervention. Thus, independence means free from all forms of colonialism.

Indonesia has indeed been free, ie on 17 August 1945. However, why in terms of culture, various arts in our country this terinta still colonized by other nations? In terms of economics, foreign powers were still strong. Politically, our political policies are often dictated by foreign nations. In fact, the natural resources of our country that should be used for the welfare of our people, precisely controlled by its administrators to other nations. If we review the condition of our country, it would appear the conclusion that our country is not free.

Freedom that we commemorate every August 17 is an ideal time to build sense of unity and promote the spirit of nationalism to fill the independence by taking various positive values. As children of the nation, we must continue to improve our performance. We must continue to fight the independence.

Let us not forget the services of our heroes who have sacrificed their lives for our future. Because actually we commemorate the independence day to commemorate the heroes of our services. In order for us not forget that before our country never colonized and our great-grandparents never felt how hard life is ruled by the colonialists. Therefore, we must not let it happen to us, we must not let our country colonized again. We must do the same thing, ie, continue to promote our country to our interests and our successors. Let's make the State of Indonesia as a truly independent State. Because the future of our country now is in our hands, the successors of the nation.

The meaning of independence in my opinion is, the peak of the struggle of the Indonesian people in the colonial period, because at the time of independence the Indonesian nation is liberated from the invaders.
Indonesia became a whole country, has the President & Vice President, Indonesia also has a state that is the basis of Pancasila. in addition there are also UUD'45 Pancasila. Indonesian people felt relieved and proud.

Indonesia proclaimed its independence on 17 August 1945. Independence Day is the day that the state of Indonesia (the Indonesian people regardless of ethnicity, race, and religion), independent or free from colonialism. Independence anniversary is commemorated every year. Various kinds of ways the people of Indonesia to commemorate the anniversary of his country's independence. Starting from decorating the village with various ornaments which are generally red and white, attach red and white flag, paint the street, carnival, various types of competitions, and of course the obligatory menu before the others are held flag-raising ceremony. Flag-raising ceremony was conducted since the level of RT, RW, Kelurahan, Kecamatan, City / County, Province to the national level. In every office and school does conduct a flag ceremony.
How do the ceremony there are a variety of performing on the field, on top of a mountain, on the seabed, in the caves and others. But some are not willing to perform the ceremony with a variety of reasons.


We as citizens who love to his country, must preserve its independence and also the preservation of his own culture. if not we who guard it, who else will continue the efforts of the heroes who have fallen fighting for freedom for all citizens. risked their lives and their bodies in order to achieve one goal. but on today, too many of our own nation who does not love his country. for example, the managers of the state, they prefer to think of the pleasure of his life from the prosperity of its people. It could be one cause of her collapse of our country. we must prevent that so as not to happen.


To prevent it, we must keep the welfare of our country. not to many events that we do not want to happen. little things do not get in big exaggerated. maintain feelings of each. respect other people's opinions. and now our country was already independent, which means free from colonialism. we also do not want colonized by others. Indonesia may become a prosperous and prosperous country.
